Cake knife and server

I was wondering the same thing. I still haven't gotten one. If I do, I have my eye on a cute $20 one from amazon. I think a fancy one is a waste, but that's just my opinion.

I just bought one from hobby lobby.

We ended up using the set that our venue had (also a hotel), as well as things like their cake stand and toasting flutes. We got married across the country from where we live and we decided it was just too much of a hassle to deal with getting, say, a set of crystal toasting flutes back home after the wedding. We did still register for crystal toasting flutes (and got them), but they're meant for future life events that DH and I will celebrate through our marriage.

Because we did not need a fancy cake serving set for the wedding, we skipped registering for it. My mom did find a pie/cake server that matched our flatware set and got that for us for home use since the store where we registered for flatware did not carry the matching pie server and hostess set. Dessert serving at home is covered!

I got one from Etsy (my grandma bought it for us for our wedding gift) that's stamped with all of our information on it and comes with cake forks. It wasn't super fancy, but I'm not super fancy and we did need one for our venue. Might as well make it cute and worth it lol

I bought my own because I wanted it to match my decor/style.

Our caterer has a set that we will use.

I found a set I loved and bought it because it was cheap ($10). Out caterer offered a set which he's bringing as backup in case our breaks

It was on our list from our venue of things we needed to supply.

I did. It was like $15 on Amazon.

I got my own because I wanted a nice set anyway since I'm a baker and they'll be used a lot, but it defintiely wasn't necessary for the wedding. I would highly recommend against getting something solely for the wedding.

I registered for one. You can always use it after for regular cakes.
