Cake flavor sign?

Lau’Ren, on February 14, 2020 at 7:15 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
We are doing a raspberry swirl pound cake with lemon filling on tier 1 and salter caramel buttercream on tier 2 with vanilla buttercream frosting. Since this isn’t your standard vanilla on vanilla cake do you think I need a sign? Or will I have to explain this to every single guest?

Suggestions? What did other ladies here do?
TIA!

Since nowadays everyone has such specific dietary restrictions, I am considering not only listing flavors, but also having a spot with the ingredients, for people who are looking out for dairy/sugar/gluten free options.

I would think about doing something small in front of the cake, like a classy stand up card, indicating the flavor. Even for the sake of picky eaters, who will be asking "what is this" the whole time.

But if you're having a smaller or more easy going group, it's completely up to you Smiley smile

Put a nice note with ingredients on the menu, please. As someone allergic to several fruits, and specific spices, and even canola oil, I get tired of not eating things I likely could have, if only there were a label. And food makers are sneaky. My sister was in the hospital ( already) recently when served Raspberry sherbet. When she had a sudden allergic reaction, , lips and tongue swelling, they checked what she was eating. In very small print on the outer box carton of 36, nothing on individual serving cup, it turned out that there were no raspberries at all in it. It was made of apple juice and pulp, and some strawberries, and artificaial raspberry flavor. She is allergic to apples and strawberries. Which you don't expect when you order raspberry. If you want a mood killer at your wedding, it is someone throwing up , or getting hives, in the middle of a meal or dessert. Pink or red flavors can be real or artificial, and made of many things. Please, tell people. It is so easy.

Good idea, thank you. I will see if the bakery would be willing to provide this information for the menus.

I would put a sign or let it me known somewhere since it's so specific

Whoever is serving the cake can let your guests knows the flavor options. A sign isn’t necessary.

A sign isnt necessary but it's a nice touch since everyone likes to know what their choices are.
