Cake cutting

Jacqueline, on October 18, 2019 at 4:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
When it comes time to “share” cake w your loved one..... how many did it ever so lovingly? My 1st marriage I was the least but happy w the ex’s tactics. I guess I don’t understand why people do that anyhow??? I’ve already told FH if he does it I will divorce him ON the spot!!! He is a kind gentle soul and I don’t foresee him doing it. Guess we shall see. LoL

I told my FW that if she smashed cake in my face, we would have the shortest marriage of all time. We're a pretty goofy couple, but I just find it super disrespectful. Plus I'm not paying thousands of dollars for hair, makeup, and my dress to get cake everywhere. No thanks.

I told my fiance I have spent way too much on my wedding dress and make up for him to ruin it by smashing cake in my face. I also told him if he did that I would have to spend x amount of minutes in the bathroom cleaning it all up and that would make me miss my own reception. Once I made my case as to why I was against it he said it made sense and he understood. We are 28 days away so we shall see if he was being honest

This is exactly my thinking, and I told FH pretty much the same thing!!

I told him he could smash cake on any part of me AFTER the wedding, when we're alone. That seemed to satisfy him. He'll behave. Smiley smile

We never even talked about it. She politely fed me the cake then put a small dab of frosting on my nose which was so cute!!! She then kissed it off. It was the sweetest thing and a perfect moment.

I don't understand why people do the cake to the face thing either, it's suppose to represent the trust between the two of you along with some other symbolizm.

My husband tried, but I moved out of way. I had expressed my disinterest in it once, but we never talked about it seriously. I just assumed he knew not to 🤷‍♀️ My fault.
We then fed each other nicely, and then I wiped what was on my finger on his cheek, lol

My husband decided to lick my nose with icing on his tongue after we fed each other the cake. I had told him he wasn't to smash the cake in my face so he did that instead. Apparently I wasn't specific enough. 🙄

My husband didn't even need telling to not smash cake in my face! I did mention it before we did it and his response was "wouldnt dream of it. You look beautiful!"

We talked about it ahead of time and agreed not to do the smashing. He did smash a little bit on my chest which was fine because it didn’t get in my dress (he had a little icing on his finger).

My FH and I agreed we weren't going to do the feeding cake thing. 😂 At all. In my opinion it's a weird and awkward tradition anyway.

Cake smashing is soooo trashy & disrespectful, in my opinion. My hubby & I were on the same page. Not even a “cake on the nose” trick. We did the cake cutting at our 60’s local reception, so to recreate a vintage feel we wanted the sweet “cake feeding” moment. 👍
