Cake cutting songs

Do you really need a cake-cutting song?

TBH I've never noticed a song playing during cake cutting and I don't really think it's necessary.

We picked an old Randy Travis song that I love (I remember my dad singing it to my mom when I was little). It's a weird not fast, not slow tempo that's it's hard to dance to. Likely no one noticed but me, but I was happy to hear it!

Our DJ had a spot for us to choose a specific song for the cake cutting. We picked "I Can't Help Myself." I think if you are ambivalent about what song is actually playing when you cut the cake, you can just ask your DJ to choose something for you.

Lol I didn't realize it warranted it's own special song.

I haven't thought about this either, but isn't there one that goes "How sweet it is to be loved by you"? I feel like that or anything about sweets and love would be good for this part of the evening.

Our asked for us to pick a song for it and I had never even thought that you had to pick a particular song.. we just picked sugar by maroon 5, he said that's been his most popular

Many DJs will ask you for a song to play during cake cutting, yes. We used "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies.

We used All You Need Is Love.

I didn't know it was a thing before wedding planning but once I heard of it I knew exactly which song we'd be playing. Portal - Still Alive. Granted I think we're gonna do an instrumental version, but plenty of guests will "get it."

We did "How Sweet It Is" by Marvin Gaye. I hadn't put any thought into a song for it but our DJ had a ton of suggestions. I barely noticed the song tbh.

We're doing L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole basically cause it's one of my favorite songs and I needed it somewhere lol.
