Cake cost? What is to be expected?

That seems quite reasonable in cost. What are sizes of the 2 tiers? Did you taste the flavors? Are you experiencing doubt in their ability to create the cake you want and it’s cost?
The price that you’ve mentioned seems very reasonable to me for 2 tiers and 2 flavors. Design wise, there is detail, but it’s not over the top with pearls or gold foil which would add to the cost drastically. I think you’ve found a good bakery!

That seems reasonable. We chose cupcakes in the end, but the cake was quoted as $300.

Yes, that is a pretty reasonable/average price.

We had a cake similarly sized and with similar touches and $310USD ($450AUD) was the cheapest we were quoted.

Our cake (three tiers in almond with almond buttercream and filing) and our groom’s cake (one tier in carrot with cream cheese icing) was about $400.

Wedding cakes are usually priced by the slice. Mine will be $530, or $5/slice for 100 people and a delivery fee. I've seen as low as $3.50/slice but also up to $8.50/slice.

I think that is a pretty average cost. Our two-tier cake was quoted at $325

i went to legit like a dozen bakeries in my area and they were all telling me like $600 for a 3 tier cake serving 200 people

Asked my cake baker aka my fiancé and he said that $300 seemed like a good deal for that cake.

There is no average. On an international forum, even in the same city no two people will pay the same. You need shop around in your area for a cake tasting and compare what they offer. Be aware that cupcakes and fake cakes are not cheaper because the bulk of the price goes toward labor or decorations and assembly.

Yes some other bakeries are give this price 2 or 3 tiers. I'm still have to ppl that I have in mind but have to make choice very soon. But some also are charging me $400-500 for 3 tiers in others places I went. I told them that the flowers doesn't need to be edible if it add more on to the price and nothing to outrage with decorating. So I'm going with the less price

As a baker I can say that’s very reasonable! I was quoted much more for a simpler design but It’s for 80 people.

That is a good deal, my cake is 285. A three tiered cake with fruit filling and Italian buttercream. Other places quoted me over 500.
