Three bakers in Atlanta have informed me they charge between 25 and 30 dollars for a consultation /tasting. Is this normal. I have contacted 5 out of the 5, 3 have a fee. Also, one baker first gave me prices via email which turned me off a little before offering to set up the consult. What do you...

Three bakers in Atlanta have informed me they charge between 25 and 30 dollars for a consultation /tasting. Is this normal. I have contacted 5 out of the 5, 3 have a fee. Also, one baker first gave me prices via email which turned me off a little before offering to set up the consult. What do you ladies think?

    I also live in Atlanta. Had tastings at three potential bakeries, wasn't charged for any of them, and got to take a ton home. They all do tons of wedding cakes, so that could be why. I understand that they don't want brides (or anyone really) to waste their time, so I would have been okay with a small fee if it went towards my purchase. Luckily, the ones I contacted didn't practice this.

    Yeah, that's about average! Ours was included in the price of our cake. It came with an itemized list, and it was $25 for the tasting portion
