Buying your own plates, cups, silverware, napkins??

Diana, on July 8, 2019 at 11:44 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 9 18
We’re getting married December 14th, 2019. I was talking with another bride today who’s getting married December 7th, 2019. And a topic came up about how many plates, cups, silverware, napkins I was purchasing for our wedding reception. We’re not hiring someone to serve our food, mainly because we can’t find anyone who won’t charge an arm and an leg!! I told her I find these helpful suggestions!! So if your wondering how much of the you need, we’ll here you go. Oh just to let you know this is just a little reference point. But very helpful.

Yeah I know, but it does make more sense. We’re purchasing at least what it says and if we don’t use them we can return any packages leftover, or use them for another event.

Having bought it all for graduation parties I remember being glad I overbought. I already planned to this time as well. I figured i'd be able to use what's left at home

I’m sure I would use what’s leftover myself or if possible take back to the store.

Taking it back is a good idea too. I'm getting most of mine on Amazon so i'll probably just keep it. I did jot down the amounts for 75 people

We brought our own plates cups and napkins. Ordered 50 each. But our catering company will bring extra once the ones we brought runs out.
We wanted our dishes cups and napkins with a design on them

We went to a wedding that ran out of all of this stuff because they only bought enough for 80 people and about 100 people showed up!!

We are doing mismatched plates for the reception, and I have been hitting thrift stores like crazy with lots of success.

However, I want to buy new flatware bc I just don't want to risk it. I literally have a spreadsheet where I am comparing different restaurant supply website prices including shipping...Goal is 20 cents a piece with tax and shipping included. I am getting close!!

I wished we had more thrift stores. I would love to do something like that.
