Buying Bridesmaid Dresses online...

Marisa-in-Love, on January 6, 2014 at 12:09 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Has anyone used any of the online shops (like French Novelty or Bridesmaids.com) to buy bridesmaid dresses? I know there are Chinese knockoff sites and I'm leery of those, but the dresses I picked for my girls are between $250-$350 vs online shops $130-150...

Any insight would be appreciated ladies Smiley smile

I'm having the same issue with the dresses I want for my girls. The only advice I can give is the one that I'm using and that is check on the return policy and order one dress to see if you like it first and then proceed or return and look elsewhere. Good luck!

I don't know anything about those two sites specifically, but I'd be leery of the quality if they claim they sell the same dress that much cheaper.

My girls are having a $260 bridesmaid dress as well. One of the girls said she would like to order it from bridesmaids.com but they just discontinued the dress. I offered the girls that I would help them pay for the dress, as I would prefer them all getting it from the bridal store for various reasons. Only one of the BM took me up on the offer but now at least everybody is placing the order together. Not sure if you can pitch in to help them pay.

Try www.thewasonline.com. They are a legit site with a brick & mortar store in the Phoenix area (though most of their sales are online). They carry most designers, so if you have been to a shop to try on gowns and know what you like or a style number, you can probably find it here cheaper. My MOH ordered her gown online and it arrived when it was supposed to - no issues at all.

I wouldn't order off of any type of site from China, I don't think it's worth the risk.

We used the Wedding Shoppe. Dress came super fast and $50.00 cheaper than the bridal store.

We don't sell dresses, but we do alterations in our tailor shop and I would just echo the above comments about finding a reputable domestic source. We've seen so many Chinese sourced dresses that have quality issues or odd sizing problems that it's just not worth whatever *great* price you see.

Yes I have ordered my bridesmaids dresses online only. I don't know about the Chinese sites but I ordered from an Australian online store Bridesmaids Only. They have awesome wedding collection for brides, bridesmaids and grooms. You will find so much variety in dresses with all sizes, shapes, colors ,tastes with good quality at affordable rates. My bridesmaids just loved their dresses. It was good and satisfying experience for me.

I'm curious about bridesmaids.com as well. It says they have an actual storefront in NYC on their website, but being in TN I obviously can't actually check that out for myself in order to feel more at peace with ordering through that site. I'm so tempted though....I promised my girls I would keep their dresses very close to $150 and they have Bill Levkoff on there at that price point.

I bought my dress from a website:

    www.dazzlebride.com.

The dress was beautiful and looked like the picture. The size was good (exactly the measures that I provided them with).

I was very worried at the beginning because of a lot of horror stories about buying dresses from websites, And the lack of communication after having ordered etc.... A friend recommended me that website that has been opened by one of his Swiss friends living in China.

The website is quite recent so the owner takes care of the customers directly and he speaks english and french.

The quality and the prices are really good.

That's the picture of my niece's dress (she did the flower girl), she looked so cute in it
