Buying a Dress Online

Tiffiany, on August 2, 2020 at 6:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
I just looked at A Thrifty Bride Shop's website but I can't find any reviews. Thoughts? Online dress shoppers here?

I’m an online dress shopper and I have some tips:
    1) look at refund or return policy
    2) best to get dresses with actual reviews from customers especially with photos 3) if you can try on gowns in person that would be more helpful because you would know what silhouettes work on you 4) if it’s that cheap then just go for it aha the gown I bought was less than $30 so I just went for it anyway cause what did I really lose ya know?

Usually if their website uses stolen images of real brides or models in a designer dress listed for a price that seems too good to be true it’s probably an Asian knockoff site.

Don't do it, especially if they have no reviews. I bought a dress online for cheap it took almost a year to get to me and it wasn't even remotely close to what the picture showed. I got scammed

I would stick to sites like David’s Bridal or BHLDN and others that are reputable and make sure to check the return policy first.

This is so true, I had to learn the hard way. I found a beautiful dress online for cheap, looked at the reviews, the reviews where good and had pictures with the reviews. After receiving my dress and looking into the website I realized that they stole those reviews from other sites. The pictures from the reviews weren't even all exactly the same but I just figured they probably had the altered to the way they wanted it.

Yea unfortunately I had to learn the hard way. And I'm so mad because I always check out reviews, I won't buy something that doesn't have reviews. I seen the reviews and they were all good. After realizing I had been scammed I tried to put a bad review on their website and found out that a real customer can't put a review on their website. So I found them on Facebook and thats where I found all the bad reviews. I was so mad at myself. So now I check Facebook, Google, every where to see what people are really saying.

If you can't find any reviews, I'd probably stay away from it. I found my wedding dress on a bridal resale site called Stillwhite. Great website and you purchase straight from the seller. Azazie is also a widely recommended site as well and they have a try at home program so you can try before you buy.

I've also seen a few brides/(maids) buy attire off JJ's House which I'm attempting. I've seen the reviews (some with real life photos) and they have a 5 star rating so it makes me feel a bit better about purchasing. Definitely do some research before committing. Not all sites are bad.

I would suggest buying a wedding dress from Poshmark.

I strongly suggest trying on in person if possible. Is it convenience/budget/etc that appeals to you with the online option?
