butterbeer

From Mi to Mo, on March 7, 2015 at 12:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

So during the hour or so that we will be taking pictures, we're supposed to have cocktail hour. I had thought about what drinks we could have (non-alcoholic) and thought about doing butterbeer to add another touch of Harry Potter. Most people won't know what it's from but I will. Has anyone tried butterbeer?

    Butterbeer is AMAZING! I live 2 hours away from Universal Studios in Florida and have visited the Harry Potter World a few times. It is so good!

    It sounds good. I'd find a recipe online to test, try it and see what you think.

    I love butter beer but can't drink too much of it before I get an upset stomach because it's so sweet

    I haven't tried the Wizarding World of Harry Potter's yet (I WANT TO) but I've found a few recipies online that I REALLY liked, mostly people have compared it to cream soda Smiley smile

    ETA I want to make these for my own wedding just to add a little to it Smiley smile I think they are cute

    @allison- what recipe do you use? I have tried to make this at home and cannot for the life of me master it. I had the universal Studios one and it was AMAZING! I dream about the day I can have it again. Do you make it frozen?

    Frozen ButterBeer Recipe {pretty darn close to the real deal}

    2 – 2 liters of cream soda

    1 container of whipping cream

    1 jar of butterscotch ice cream topping

    To start, you will need a good blender that can blend ice well. Start with one of the 2 liters of cream soda and freeze small portions of it in plastic cups. You could use ice cube trays as well, what ever you have. Freeze the soda for a few hours. Whip the cream and add a few tablespoons of the butterscotch topping as you whip. Do not over whip the cream. It should look and feel light, not heavy.

    Blend the frozen cream soda with some of the cream soda that is not frozen for an icy type texture. Add more of the butterscotch topping into the cream soda while you blend.

    To serve, pour the blended mixture into a cup and top with the butterscotch flavored whip cream.

    Thanks! This is the one we tried but we used butterscotch schnapps instead. It was okay but not like the Universal one.

    Tried it an Universal and loved it! Found a non-alcoholic recipe that is okay, but not oh-my-god-wow.
