Hi all. This is my first post on WeddingWire. I have been going back and forth in my mind with anxiety on finding my wedding dress when I start looking this fall. I am currently a 36DDD, and I have struggled with clothes shopping/bras my entire life. I love so many of these dress styles, but I worry there's no possible way I'll be able to wear them without a bra. Plunging necklines, sheer/low backs, no straps... how on earth do bustier brides make these beautiful dresses work for them with the undergarments? I have contemplated a breast reduction for many years - more so recently than ever, as I have talked with some brides who waited till after the wedding to do the surgery and regretted it as it would've made dress shopping so much easier for them. For those brides with bodies like mine, how did you manage to make your dress work while supporting the girls?

Ugh, I'm like a size 8-10 so I feel you on being smaller size but having a massive chest. It's so frustrating.

Wow this dress is so stunning on you!! I am usually pretty modest with my cleavage since I've pretty much been told to cover up since I was a kid, but sometimes you just can't help it and need to embrace it. I'm interested in this same style of dress too, so wondering how it will look when I try it on and if I'd be comfortable with it. Sometimes you just can't avoid it, especially if you fall in love with the dress Smiley heart Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you EVERYONE for your input! I'm so glad I'm not alone, and it's refreshing to see beautiful women with bodies like me in these gorgeous dresses!! I won't be going shopping till the fall so I'll try to remember to update this thread with what I try on and ultimately choose!

Thank you! I've always felt like a lower cut actually makes them look smaller than trying to cover up too much, if that makes sense lol. My mom really wanted me to add some sort of modesty panel (I told her I did, boy was she surprised on my wedding day 🙈) - that would be an option for you if you like that style of dress but aren't comfortable with the low cut.

I honestly think I'm just gonna have to try stuff on and gauge my comfort level from there and not necessarily rule out lower cut dresses that might be more revealing on a body type like mine. Trust me, it's not that I'm necessarily uncomfortable with my cleavage showing (my friends love it on the rare occasions when I do haha) but I just worry about parents/older family being judgy Smiley amazing But thank you for sharing your beautiful photo and for not doing the modesty panel because this dress is literally perfect on you the way it is! Smiley heart

I got married back in November 2019, and wore the same gown as Kathryn and Merline. Like Merline, I added the modesty piece. Made a huge difference for my comfort level. I did not wear a bra or add cups...the alterations ladies at David’s put the cups in to show me, and they really pushed up my boob so much, that I thought they were going to pop out the top. But my dress has enough structure that I felt secure. For reference I’m normally a 34 DDD, but I’d had a baby 18 months before, so I’m not 100% on what size the girls were at the wedding. Try on lots of styles to see what you’re happiest in, and a good seamstress will work wonders!

I ended up finding a beautiful dress at a local boutique! It’s a Stella York dress. It does have some cleavage but it’s beautiful. This is pre-alterations at my first fitting.Busty Brides 2
