Busty Bride!!!

Rebecca, on February 24, 2016 at 11:01 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10

I am a size 10 street but mostly due to big boobs and big hips. Which is great but I'm only 5'2" and so I feel like I'm half boob. I'm working on losing weight but nothing is moving from the bust. Any tips on dresses? Lingerie? I have a hard time with clothes as it is and often wear baggy stuff to make it kind of work. Which, obviously, I don't want to do on my wedding day. HALP!!!

Get something with a built in corset. I'm 5'0 and a 32 D, so I kind of know how you feel. I went with the designer Maggie Sottero because her dresses just hold everything in so well, while hiding the corset (if that's not your style...it wasn't mine) behind a zipper. They're are also designers that can "let the bust out" while not having to go up a dress size so you can have the dress that fits the rest of you while having extra room in the bust (thanks Say Yes to the Dress!)

Cool! I do love corset-like dresses so I'll look into her stuff! Thank you. I'm used to photographing weddings not the one planning them (doesn't help I'm a tomboy and only used to planning kids parties at work) haha

Definitely seconded on the corset. I'm 5'1 and a 36DD, I would never consider not having a corset somewhere in there lol. Neckline plays a role too. Right now the family favorite is a V-neck while the high neckline tend to not be as flattering on my chest area. If you don't like a lot of cleavage, a modified sweetheart might be a good pick for you (though the V-neck on the current favorite isn't extremely showy either). With neckline just try on a bunch of shapes and see what you like/feel comfortable in! I decided that I don't feel comfortable in a strapless, but a friend of mine who was between a D and a DD when she got married wore a strapless and looked gorgeous! ETA: I'm also a street size 10-12.

Here's a pic that kinda shows how well the "girls" were supported. I also had a non padded just "support" bra sewn in. I'm a street size 4 (well...I was back then lol) and had a dress size 8 altered down to fit me. They actually measured me at a 10 because of my hips, but the 8 was enough room lol.

Corset and built in cups will do wonders. I'm 5'1" and a 32DDD and my mom and I were both shocked at how flattering and not boobilicious structured dresses were.

A good bra. I was a 36DDD at my wedding and had a strapless dress. I bought a good strapless bra from Nordstrom and my boobs looked great. I didn't have a corset.

Corsets are pretty much the best thing ever.

I had a Maggie Sottero with a corset; even as a 34DDD I was able to wear it bra-less and cup-less with no fear. It was cinched so tight nothing even jiggled. My seamstress said bigger chested girls don't need cups and to prove it, she put a set in during a fitting and holy boob fat... it looked much better without them.

I have the same issue at a 34 DD. Where did you guys find good corsets? I've bought corsets in the past that weren't very comfortable.
