Bustle?

Kali, on March 28, 2020 at 8:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hi guys,

I'm debating on whether or not I want to add a bustle on my dress, it has a spade train that I'm in love with and would love to keep it long all day but I'm getting married on the beach in Mexico so I don't know how practical it would be. Also I'm not sure what it would look like bustled? Let me know your thoughts!

It's a sample so its a few sizes too small so don't mind that!

I think a bustle is a necessity as it's just not practical and could get ripped . I think just a simple bustle in the middle would be good then the long part of your train would fall down the center

If you don’t bustle your train, it would inevitably get stepped on, ripped, and you will trip over it.

What would be the alternative to the bustle? For me I wanted a bustle because I didn’t want my poofy train to get annoying and for ppl to accidentally step on my dress or get in the way when dancing.

What a pretty dress! It has to be bustled to avoid getting trashed. When you go for your first fitting you can ask your seamstress for bustle options. She’ll show you what she thinks works best with your dress type, and you go from there. You’ll get to decide if you like the way it looks, and come up with another bustle option if you don’t.

Gorgeous! I also agree a simple bustle would look great, and I think you’ll appreciate having it. Another option is to have the seamstress add a wrist loop for you. My friend did this along with a bustle so she had option during the day. Worked out great and it gave the dress two different looks!

First the dress is gorgeous! Congratulations on finding one. And I think a bustle is a must. The alternative is more than likely damaging that lovely train or having a strap around your wrist all day and I've heard horror stories about that option.

Gorgeous dress - love the lace. I would add a bustle. It'll keep your train clean and untorn, which is a must for being on the beach.
