Bustle Suggestions

I’m not a fan of the bustled look. Didn’t want a dress with a train at all or just a sweeping one. But somehow I ended up with a pretty decent train. Looking for suggestions on what bustles looks good with a lace dress like this. Considering chopping the under layer of the train so I would only have to bustle the lace overlay. Thoughts?

Have you had your seamstress pin up the dress in multiple bustles before you make a decision? You could do a wrist loop too.

I have not yet. Still waiting for the dress to come in and overthinking everything.

Ive heard that the writ loop quickly gets annoying. It does look great in photos though.

I tried on a kitty chen dress very similar to yours. The train was only the lace overlay and the underlay had no train. It looked awesome and when we pinned the bustle with a 1 button overbustle the lace looked amazing. Have then show you what this would look like before you chop away any material, but me being someone who likewise hates bustles and didn't want a train, I thought it looked awesome.

Side note: I have a chapel train that I may or may not chop off depending on what bustle options they give me...

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Cara!! Congratulations on saying yes to your beautiful dress! It’s so stunning!! Did you also say yes to this veil?

I definitely think that you have plenty of time to figure this out and once you are able to bring it to a seamstress, they will be able to tell you what will work best for your dress.

I had a look on Pinterest for some ideas of what a bustle could look like on your dress. Are there any that you like?

Thanks for the samples! Those don’t look too bad. Guess it’s never going to look as good as how the dress was designed to look. Just nervous cause I didn’t want a train and don’t want it just bunches up in a ball under my butt. Haha.

I totally know what you mean! You can definitely have a discussion with your seamstress when the time comes and you can explain that. They will be able to offer some really practical suggestions specifically for your dress!
