Bustle or wrist loop?

Alex, on July 25, 2019 at 4:07 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 30
Guys I really hate the way most bustles look and my dress has a GORGEOUS train so I really don’t want to cover it up by bustling it away! Do you think I could get away with a wrist loop? Or is there a bustle that may not hide the beautiful lace pattern?

That’s gorgeous! I had both a wrist loop and a bustle; the loop was really useful when we were doing photos, but I got sick of it pretty quickly and was very happy to bustle my dress once we were done with pics. A single point American bustle should work while not hiding that gorgeous lace pattern I would think?

Thank you! I think having both options available is probably a smart decision

I agree that a single point bustle should work! It will shorten the train without hiding the lace! It might make it almost like a sweep train, which may be super pretty too!

Your train is beautiful! I'm getting a bustle, but my skirt is completely covered in ruffles so the bustle blends in with the rest of the dress. I really like the loop, but I think I'd get annoyed with it easily.

Thank you! Yes I’m worried I’ll be annoyed with the loop before the end of the night

Beautiful dress. I would get both. I personally hate the look of wrist loops. I think they look very old fashioned, and your dress is anything but! I also think a wrist loop would get very annoying after a couple of hours of dancing at your reception. An American bustle would look great on your dress and would not cover up any of the lace. Ask the person who does your alterations and see what they say!

I'm shooting for both personally. I'm having mine custom made but one of the major points I mentioned is lace on the train (I'll add a pic of my favorite train that I found) so she's gonna try to make the bustle to where the lace along the edge will still show, but it won't be in the way, getting stepped on, or dragging everywhere I go Smiley smile

I have a VERY similar train. The seamstress suggested that I have an american bustle but have several hooks to still display the train. So basically the lace part becomes the new back of the dress from the butt down.

My seamstress gave me an 11 point bustle that kept the lace details visible. Granted it wasn't as intricate as yours!

I love your dress. The exact style I’m interested in and thanks for posting this question bc I have no clue what I’d want either.

Very pretty! I thin a wrist loop might get annoying. I feel like there is a way to bustle your dress and still show the gorgeous lace

I'm doing a wrist loop, too. I didn't like how a train looked with my dress and want to be able to move in it. I have a reception dress that I'll change into if it needed. It's the same dress I'll wear to a different function that week-- different accessories make the look!
