Bustle length

BrooklynBride, on October 26, 2017 at 8:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

How long is the bustle supposed to be? I always thought it would touch the floor, not drag partway across the floor.

Am I wrong?

Here's a pic of it now:

Yeah that's weird. I'd do a different bustle if I were you. The whole point of a bustle is so it doesn't drag and doesn't get stepped on!

Talk to your seamstress. I agree with PPs that it shouldn't still be dragging.

Thanks pp! I hope this doesn't mean she has to cut my train shorter Smiley sad

@OP, She shouldn't have to cut your train, and I would specifically tell her that you don't want it to. Like @Enchanted said, there are ways to bustle it higher so it's like you wanted without sacrificing the length

My bustle will be connected right above my booty lol but it still will drag because I have so much skirt. Personally I'm not too worried about it.

I'm going to agree with pp, this kinda defeats the point if it's still dragging behind you. I'd just ask them to shorten it up a bit so you don't have to worry about anyone stepping on it

She can add more buttons and loops to make it not drag anymore. A one point bustle for that long of a train is not enough

This is the new bustle she showed me. Let’s hope it’s the proper length this time...

It looks nicer on than on the hanger, but it does seem long. And for such a nice dress, you definitely dont want people stepping on it
