Bustier sizing

Kayla, on April 5, 2018 at 8:26 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
Okay so I need a bustier to wear under my dress. Davids had me try dresses on with one and when she asked me what my bra size was I told her 34 D but she brought me a 38 C one. It fit me good except in the cups. They were too small and smashed my boobs. So should I get one that is my actual size or should I get one that’s a 38 D?

When I mentioned to her that the cups were too small she said they were fine so she wouldn’t bring me a different one to try on but they were not at all.

Can anyone please help me out! Lol and also if anyone has a recommendation of a good one I’d appreciate it! Thanks!!

Don't trust anything Davids gave you. Chances are 100 other women put that same bustier on before you and stretched it out.

Your best bet is to go to Dillards or Nordstrom and try a bunch on until you find the right fit or order a bunch on Amazon Prime and return what doesn't fit.

This is what I figured I would have to do. I have a Nordstrom around me but not a Dillard’s so I’ll have to go check it out! Thank you!!

What is your bust measurement? The cups of the 38C should have fit or even been a little big. Do you know how bra sizing works? Have you heard of "sister sizes"? And most importantly, did she measure you?

You should go get professionally sized at a lingerie store. They sell them there also

Yes I know about sister sizes. This is why I’m confused on what to buy because I figure it should have fit me. No she didn’t measure me she just asked what size bra I wore. I didn’t know if there was something different about a bustier that I didn’t know because I have never had one.

Maybe they just don't have your size and she was trying to make the sale? I definitely wouldn't buy from them either way because you'll get better service and a better product from a designated undergarment store. I think for you especially, you should go to a specialty shop. Your size (with the small band size and large cup size) should definitely be properly fit. Good luck finding a perfect one!

I had bought my bustier from David too. First time I put one on it was a 38c to big then she measured me and give me a 36b. I had bought that one. And the day I went in to have my dress taken in the lady measured me again for the 3rd time and it turned out I was a 34D. Problem of losing to much weight boobies gone 🤣 But thank god they had change it. Yes I would go to a professional and get them measured the right way.

Yes I think I’ll go to a specialty place! I always have the worst time finding bras in my size anyways because of the small band and large cup. Thank you!!

I work at DB- the sizes run differently is the two bustiers they offer. One with
padded cups run EXTREMELY tight! (I’m a 36c- I was a 42c Smiley ups ) the other with non padded cups runs closer to true size but is still tight. Again, 36C and I ordered a 38b in this corset. It depends on your body shape too!

I've heard for long line bras to go up one band size and down one cup size. But, I agree with others to go to a department store and just try some on.
