Bust Asymmetry and Wedding Gowns??

Rachel , on October 30, 2018 at 1:38 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 5
So I have my gown and scheduled my first fitting appointment at the end of November. I was told to bring whatever undergarments I’m planning on wearing...but I have a problem.

I suffer from asymmetrical breasts and it’s pretty noticeable. My dream for my wedding is to finally look even on top for photos. Are there any tips on how to make that happen? Do you think seamstresses have dealt with this before? Has anyone here had this problem?

Thanks!

I would ask the seamstress I’m sure she has some suggestions, if you are doing bust cups maybe they could put extra on one side to try and even it out??

Yes! The seamstress can help you! One of the times I was at my dress shop for alterations there was a girl before me that had the same issue and they helped her!

Yes they can work magic! I have a weird birth defect and was a D cup on one side and completely flat on the other and no one ever knew (I’ve had several reconstructive surgeries at this point to correct it).

Are you wearing a bra? If so, have your seamstress sew a pocket on the inside of the bra to put as many of those chicken cutlet type breast enhancers in to make you look even. Those work much better than the foam cups and look more natural. I never had much luck with only making changes to formal dresses (never looked even), altering the bra always worked the best for me. Good luck!

Yes! I’ll be wearing a strapless bra, so that sounds like a great idea! Thanks!

Hi Rachel! Welcome to WeddingWire and congrats on your engagement!

You received some great feedback and insight here in this thread! Smiley heart I agree, your seamstress should be able to help you and adding padding to alter the bra is a good idea, like Sarah mentioned.

You're going to look absolutely lovely on your wedding day and we are so excited for you!
