Bump: Cancun or Jamaica in October?

Groupon has good offers, I downloaded the app and they have a lot of good options. Very reasonable, I'm looking for my honeymoon after my wedding next year also

I looked at Groupon but most of them are for the next few months, not as far out as October unfortunately.

Has anyone ever stayed at any hotels in Jamaica or Mexico (leaning more towards Jamaica) that they can recommend?

This is what I do when I plan a vacation:

-First check kayak and google flights to see what days are the cheapest to fly

-check out TripAdvisor for hotel reviews and oyster.com

-don't book right away because flight prices always change, so this is a good idea to set up price tracking via kayak or google

-signing up for the resort emails helps too they can notify you when they're having a sale

-once you have the days you want to fly and hotel it's time to wait(unless you get notified that a sale is happening for example) flights usually go on sale on Tuesday

One resort I really loved and enjoyed is Barcelo bavaro palace deluxe in Dominican Republic. The water was so beautiful

There were always fun activities going on

But not the adult version that side seemed boring!

I had the same troubles. I kept going back and forth on resorts wondering what the difference was and hoping I picked the right one. I ended up contacting a travel agent that was able to give several suggestions on destinations. Once we chose the place she gave recommendations on multiple resorts and answered all of the questions I had when looking myself. She had the cheapest flights and when I found the resort at a cheaper price she was able to price match making sure wet got the lowest cost for everything. We chose Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya. It's an all inclusive adult only resort about 20 minutes out of the city but still in arms reach of excursions. She was absolutely great and took away all of the stress of trying to make decisions on your own. This was the first time I worked with a travel agent and she was great!!!! We were able to do everything by phone so it was so convenient. I'd highly recommend it. We ended up paying $3600 which included 2 round trip flights, airport transportation to and from the resort, an upgraded swimout room, and travel insurance which allows us to cancel without penalties up until the morning of travel. Had we not choose those options we could've easily been right at $3K

Okay I'm back with more questions! I called a travel agent, went over our options, and we're thinking of either going to Jamaica or Cancun. Our options are the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica, or Valentin Imperial Maya in Cancun. Has anyone ever been to either? Any other suggestions?
