Built on cups give no lift - what to add

Tina, on September 14, 2019 at 4:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
In my Maggie Sontero gown, my seamstress put push up upgraded cups. They are better than the basic ones the dress came with. But I am 50 and the girls aren’t as shapely as they once were. What do I do for prettier cleavage?
I am a 36C. The dress has an open back, but not too low. We’re adding sleeves, do a bra is an option. Would love suggestions!!
Also, what shaper for the bottom (belly/ mid section doesn’t roll down? I’m curvy and have a bit of rolls. I’d like things smooth and it’s a fit and flare/trumpet style dress

Give a corset bra a try - I got one to wear with my off-the-shoulder dress at my daughter's wedding and it was absolutely perfect to give me the right shape. Surprisingly comfortable, I didn't feel the need to 'hike' it up once as the structure of the corset kept everything in place. Paired with a good pair of high-waisted spanx and it was perfect.

I second the corset bra idea! Really holds everything into place while giving the girls a good lift!

Buy a bustier bra at a good lingerie store. Many are able to alter it so it isn’t visible with your dress. This is what I did - my dress was very similar to yours. I was 57 when I got married and felt gorgeous!

Any ideas on brands? Also, there is a lot of bonding in the body of the dress (it’s hard to sit - doesn’t bend), so I’m really looking for something that gives my girls a lift, but not more top shaping. I would however like to smoothie out the rolls in my midsection. What shaper will stay up and not just roll back down ?

    Actually, here is what helped:

    - added spaghetti straps that held up dress (under the lace illusion sleeves we created)
    - pinch the front of the chest, right between the breast and tighten there
    - tighten side seams to be snug around the chest

nothing seemed to work until we closed the gap in the front between the girls. That kept me from falling out sideways and front ways, and kept me from “flopping”. You can see it in the pic on day of with my dad.
