Buffet Style...menus?

jlam, on March 18, 2010 at 11:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

What do you think about having menus with a buffet style meal?

We haven't decided to do them, but just began looking into VistaPrint and realized we can afford to do some of the extras we weren't originally going to do.

I thinking it might be nice to have informal menus at the place settings.

It's not necessary for a buffet. IMHO, save that $! You will realy need it later! There will be many things that come up that weren't planned that you want later. Smiley smile

Agree w/analy, it is really not necessary. Also agree, that unbudgeted items always come up, so you might need the money for somthing else.

If I have them I'm making them myself, just like I'm making our own invitations and table numbers. I think they are a nice touch although they are unecessary.

I am making them for my buffet. Our caterer is doing a seated buffet which means that all the plates and settings will be at the tables (beyond that, I am not entirely sure how it will work). I am going to have a menu at each of the place settings. But we are doing them ourselves so they won't be too terribly fancy.

Maybe just print out 1 menu per table so guest know the options before they get up to the buffet?

If you are having a buffet there is really no need to spend money on menus. if you have the money to spare, okay.

@Theresa If you bargain hunt $3K will be okay I spent a lil less than $2K but I'm not getting any flower centerpieces. I bought a very nice shape champagne glass that curves and some candles.

I'm with Raven, I'm doing a buffet and I'm planning on having one or two menus per table... since tables will be "released" to go up to the buffet, which is in another room, they can see what they are getting before they head up there...
