Buffet leftovers

For those who are serving a buffet, are you providing take out containers for guests to take food home as they choose or will you donate it to a local shelter?

I’ve seen this done at a couple weddings where the food was so delicious and they ordered way too much and sent it home with guests, and while it was a great after-dancing snack, it was just as tasty the next day.

We had takeout containers and people too what they wanted but there was also still so much left that we were able to donate to a shelter as well.

As people left my first wedding, they just took full containers of whatever was left. We got Olive Garden catering. So someone took home a whole salad. Someone else wanted some pasta. We took home the majority of it, but offered everyone to take a container home! Our food came in easier to go containers

That's a great idea to donate to shelters. I haven't heard of that happening before and I think that's really special. Giving left overs to guests is cool too .

Our caterer will pack up any left over food for us to take home. We arent having a honey moon right away so we will probably eat the left overs for a few days.

Our food was also packed up for us by the caterer. We spent part of the day after the wedding using our foodsaver, so that we could freeze leftovers. We probably would have sent food home with guests, but everyone (99.5% of the guest list, I did the math) had to travel.

At my wedding we had everything served family style where people were given take out boxes if they wanted to take it home!
at my bff's wedding, it was buffet style and she just took home the leftovers herself
