Buffet Leftovers-what to do?

Emma, on October 28, 2018 at 10:10 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
We have an enormous amount of leftover foood from my daughters wedding, more than we can ever eat. I’m sending lunch for a couple days for 12 with another daughter but will still have enough food to feed at least 25 people after that. How did you deal with all this food? Looking for any and all ideas so it doesn’t go to waste. Thanks.

Freeze it, put it out in a staff break room, give it to neighbors...

You can always try to donate to a local shelter, an old folks home, a kid’s home, take it to your local police or firefighter’s office, to yours or hubby’s workplace... lots of places to take t so it doesn’t go to waste!

Is there a food kitchen for the poor? You could donate it.

That is so thoughtful of you ❤❤ And I 100% agree with all the suggestions Cynthia gave you. This really touched my heart because the holidays are coming and there are many people who won't have food or what they might be accustom to having. Especially with all of the hurricanes and storms that have devasted our nation. Hunger does not have a social class.

Know any college students? We had a ton of leftovers as well and due to strict food regulations here, we couldn't donate it. So we called up a friends college aged brother who happily took it all back to his frat where it was demolished in less than 2 days.

We didn't have much left over after our wedding (thank goodness). But after an event where we did, my BFF and I heated everything up, wrapped it all in tin foil and went out and fed the homeless in our area. Just walked up to them and asked if they were hungry and would like a plate. We had wrapped up some plastic serveware in a napkin and had bottled water or soda as well. They were so grateful and it was gone in no time.

We're having the family over the day after the wedding, eating leftovers and opening our cards/gifts and just hanging out! We did this for my sisters wedding too and it was really nice

I would say maybe donate it to a shelter or pass it out to any of the homeless people in the area.

You could freeze it or look in the area for homeless shelters/soup kitchens. I volunteer at a homeless shelter and they are always willing to take good food for their guests! Or any other places that take cooked food donations!
