Buffet Dinner

I'm doing a buffet also. I also just went to a wedding on Friday she had about 130 guests. One line for buffet. We were the last table so I really was able to get a feel for how long it would take. All said and done it was about 1 hr 15 min total it took to stand in line and everyone to eat. So it wasn't too bad.

Im having a buffet dinner also for about 130 ppl or so maybe less on a Friday. Our guests will be able to stand on both sides of the table to keep the line moving. I was actually getting nervous with choosing buffet style for our wedding.

@Lucky Me did any of the guests complain at wedding reception?

We have about 200 people, however 2 buffet lines (on opposite sides of the room to prevent traffic jams). I believe the coordinator at the venue said it would take about 1 hr or so.

It will depend on a few different factors:

One sided or two sided?

Served or self-serve?

I would say for 130 guests you would be best served if you're able to set up a 2-sided self-serve buffet. This might/might not be available depending on your venue, caterer and/or food selections... but this would be what would allow the greatest number of guests to go through in the shortest amount of time.

With a 2-sided buffet, I would estimate 35-40 minutes for buffet serving.
