Buffet Dinner meals

Jacqueline, on November 14, 2019 at 4:17 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15
We have decided to do buffet for our reception. Curious as to what you are having if you are doing/did buffet as well? I was thinking Chicken Piccata, beef of sorts, baked rigatoni, roasted/steamed veggies, tossed salad.

We're doing a buffet as well! Our venue offers a barbecue option, so we're going with that. It should be delicious and perfect for a lunch reception.

We're doing a chicken & vegetarian dish as well as a beef carving station. Then mashed potatoes and veggies and salad.

Yours sounds great and offers a variety!

We have our tasting next week so we're not exactly sure what we will choose just yet but from their menu options, the list below is what we've come up with for our tasting with an assortment of hors d'oeuvres. If we like the chicken and steak, then we'll pick one seafood and pick the sides accordingly.

    Entrees

    Roasted Chicken

    BreastCharbroiled

    Flat Iron Steak

    Seared Salmon Filet

    White Basa Fish

    Jumbo Shrimp Scampi

    Sides

    Garlic Mash Potatoes

    Basmati Rice Pilaf

    Penne Pasta Al Fresca

    Creamy Rissotto

We had chicken parm, dill salmon, and prime rib as entrees. Then we had a vegetable medley and rice pilaf and salad as sides, a mashed potato bar, and rolls.

We were originally going to do several different soups and salads and breads for our buffet meal, but there ended up being some liability issues with serving the soup, so we switched to lasagna (meat and vegan and gluten free options) and mac-n-cheese and salad and a green veggie. Plus cake!

We're doing stations, so similar to a buffet. We're doing 4 stations, and are thinking chicken wings (we're from buffalo), pasta, salad, and a meat carving station.

My sister did a buffet and it got a ton of compliments. They had a carving station, polish sausage, pierogies, mac n cheese, salad, and vegetables.

Buffett and I added a carving station that will give us a 3rd meat option.

This will allow our guests to have a little bit of everything and not locked in on 1 type of entree.

I love buffets because they give guests choices!

We went with 4 passed appetizers and 1 station. Buffet was nontraditional southwestern: tacos, sliders, southwestern mac and cheese, rice, salad, chips, guac, salsa. Guests raved about the food!
