Buffet brunch timeline

Amanda, on July 24, 2019 at 2:56 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
We are planning on having a buffet brunch style wedding, and I'm having trouble with the time line of the reception specifically. We have 3.5 hours (11:30-3) for eating, speeches, first dances, cake cutting, and dancing. We obviously want everyone to have enough time to eat, but we also want to maximize our time danicng and socializing with our guests. How long should you allow for eating a buffet brunch?

How many guests do you have to get through the buffet?

We're inviting 250, but I believe most of the vendors we've talked to so far say we will have two lines with everything

I would estimate it'll take about an hour then. About 30 min for everyone to get through and 30 min to eat.

Hey Amanda! I agree with the pp, an hour should ensure that everyone has had time to eat. Perhaps you should allot an hour and 15 mins in case there is any slight delay with anyone finishing their meal. You don't want to feel like you are falling behind on your timeline!

What type of food are you serving?
