Budget Vegas Wedding 50-100 people

Tiffany, on April 17, 2018 at 10:21 AM Posted in Nevada Planning 0 21
Hi folks,

I need advice on planning a destination wedding in Las Vegas. I feel overwhelmed since most venues charge 8.25% tax and a 22% service charge. We are expecting 50-100 guests. I just want a simple ceremony (minus the cheesy Elvis or the drive thru weddings) and a reception with food and open bar. I don’t need a DJ or dance floor. I’ve been looking at Maggiano’s but am open to any suggestions. Thanks!

My best friend got married at the Chapel of Flowers and has her reception at the Venitian. I believe it was all for under 12k.

Have you checked out Bucca di Beppo? I'm thinking about that (or somewhere involving in and out burger because we are from the midwest and LOVE in and out burger hahaha!!!) Have you found a chapel yet? You can book wedding and reception separately. Also you could do a buffet with an open bar my sister got married and we went to the Mirage buffet because they have an open bar (that was roughly 25 people I think?).

We are going to Vegas and thought it would be small now it's between 60-100 so definitely trying to find all the best options! Most places we look in but a minimum that's insane and we will never meet (I don't mind the minimum but when we would only actually spend half of that it feels ridiculous)

Check out The Plaza at Whitney Ranch. I am using them and they are about $6000, for 100 guests, for the ceremony and reception. Includes officiant, dj, open bar, buffet dinner, tables, chairs and linens. They also have packages that include the cake, flowers and photography.

I’m from the Midwest too and it’s important for me to feed my guests well. I’ll look into Bucca!

Also if I have that many guests and we do separate ceremony and reception, how do I transport them around Vegas? Thoughts?

We had a ceremony at a hotel chapel (Monte Carlo) and then a restaurant reception afterwards. Perhaps that might work for you?

You can rent a limo or if we have to get everyone moving but it's close we are debating on uber LOL!!! But it's probably just cheaper to rent a limo/limo bus. We are getting married at Mandalay Bay so Bucca is pretty close and might just uber for guests who can't walk that far (we are doing some pictures afterwards so we are saying wedding at 3 and meet back for dinner at 5 since it's Vegas there's a lot for people to do so I'm not super concerned entertaining for 2 hours which I know I'll be told on here is not proper etiquette but literally everyone we talk about this with is happy to do it this way so they can enjoy the casino in between and these are very honest people lol!!!) we are also doing something for the younger crowd later the disco party bus so we can party and dance without worry we've gotten separated.

Check out Lawry’s The Prime Rib. I’m having 50 people and doing the ceremony and reception there at $61 per person, open bar based on drinks sold.

We are coming from Utah and actually are having our ceremony and reception at a house we found on airbnb. It also helped or budget ($10,000) since we get it for a couple days not a couple hrs. There's some nice venues that you can find that actually save you from having to pay for the chapel and a reception venue, save on travel from chapel to venue, save on room blocks( if you are posting for out of town guests).

We are having our wedding at Aria and reception at Maggiano’s. We opted for a cocktail reception and they gave us a lower minimum since we are getting married on a Sunday as opposed to a Friday or Saturday.

If you are concerned about cost, I’d keep that guest list closer to 50 rather than 100.

    Hello,
How did you find your house on air bnb? Did you use any specific search information? Did you inform the owner about your event? Did you hire a coordinator? I’m just getting started with the planning and other having it in Vegas I’m at a complete loss. I’m from Ohio and our family is coming in from all over.

I just went to the website and filtered it. I searched for 16+ capacity venues and just put in my dates. I also filtered in renting the entire place option. I did talk to the owner and he actually hosts weddings there all the time. As for a coordinator, we are still deciding on whether to hire one or just appoint a friend. What is your theme and budget? That's where i started. But I'm also a very organized and detail oriented person so it wasn't too bad. The only thing im having trouble with is finding a cheap dj.

Well our budget is 10K and our theme is Simple Elegance with Black & White everything and a hint of gold. Thank you so much for the information. You’ve given me a great starting point. I am very detailed oriented myself but with a wedding set for May and planning from Ohio, I’m a bit overwhelmed. Thank you again for the information!!

Also, those are pretty standard numbers. I was super happy when I found somewhere that has the tax and gratuity included in the package. I'm using emerald at queensridge. So many places do all-inclusive packages for under your budget so you should have several options!

I like the Emerald at Queensridge option but I'm concerned about transportation from the hotel to the event space. I know everyone says party buses. But by the time I pay for party buses for 50-100 guests, I'm better off booking at a hotel and doing everything there. Just sayin...

You can find similar venues on the strip or close to it! I know, eq is far. I live here, so it's different for me. My oot guests will be ubering around. The amount of time you spend online is extensive because we have hundreds of venues here!

No problem. Glad i could help and don't worry girl you got this. Just breath you have a little bit of time to still get back on track. Just take one day that you don't have any responsibilities and just research and contact ppl. There's also a site called homeaway.com and is like airbnb so you can check that out if you don't find something on airbnb

Look into Artisan Hotel. You can rent the entire hotel out (or a portion) and have a wedding there. I went to a (now ex) friends wedding there. It is an adult only hotel (not in the porno way), so this wont work if you have children. There is no gambling at the hotel (NO CASINO!) and its very pretty.

We are doing our wedding at the Aria Wedding Chapel, and having our reception at a restaurant in the hotel. We booked a party bus for our after party.
