Bubble send off - winter ceremony

HLW to HLV, on October 17, 2015 at 6:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Our photographer said alot of couples do bubble send offs after the ceremony in the winter. My question: do we do bubbles as we exit the church before or after the formal photos. it would be weird to do a bubble send off then go back to church for formal photos - right? However I don't want to keep our guests waiting in the inside church commons area while we take pictures in front of the altar - or is that just how it works?

I would say finish the ceremony, have your send off, maybe go in limo and drive around block and then return once guest have fled. Well in limo have a couple selfie sticks for fun photos. Don't make them wait. Hm hope this helps =)

I think it's fine to do the bubbles right after the ceremony then go back in for the pictures. At the end of the sparkler exit at the end of the night, I went back and thanked a few guests and mingled one last time before getting on our golf cart and riding off to our honeymoon suite. So after you run through the bubbles, give a few people some hugs, and then go back in for pictures and people will be fine I'm sure!

I agree with the previous posters, don't make people wait. I attended a wedding where they made us wait while they had church pictures. Everyone got grumpy and when the finally came out, almost nobody did the bubble thing. I decided not to have bubbles after this, lol.

The wedding I went to last yr and my sis the yr before did bubbles after the church then walked into the church n did pics. Your guest prob won't even notice you went back inside cause everyone will be seeing family n friends they have not seen in a while and talking. Plus is normal to have pics taken inside the church anyway.if it winter and cold you don't want to keep you guest waiting outside in the cold anyway

Something else to think about, and some words of caution - I see you are from the Midwest... I live in Iowa, have you ever tried or seen that bubble trick that people do when it is really cold? (I'm talking, near sub-zero temps), but your wedding is in December, so anything can happen!

But basically you blow bubbles outside - and they freeze into these cool little glass like ice bubbles... I'm not sure that would be ideal for what you are wanting. Just a thought.. Because if the air is cold enough, you could have ice bubbles that just immediately fall to the ground and shatter. I've done the trick with my kids, and it works.. Smiley smile
