I attended one, and the bride said they were up VERY early. They had a donut tower in place of a cake.

I'm okay with early! Just curious, did they have a DJ?

They did not, they had someone playing music from spotify hooked up to a speaker. But it was a very casual wedding in general.

That's honestly such a relief to hear! We were thinking of doing the same thing but I was reading so many things that you needed a DJ

We were planning a brunch wedding for a while! We were going to skip the DJ and the dancing because it isn't really our vibe and have lawn games and a Spotify playlist instead. We were going to do a stack of pancakes or waffles instead of a "real" wedding cake and have a mimosa/bloody Mary bar!

Definitely keep in mind how early you'd have to get up to get ready, especially if you're getting your hair and makeup professionally done!

My daughter had a brunch wedding/reception. The ceremony started at 11:00. The bridal party started getting hair done at 6:30. They didn't have cake but had a variety of cinnamon rolls from Cinnaholic.

I'm thinking about doing a brunch wedding. We are getting married at a place where its ours for the weekend and all our guests will be staying on the grounds. Im thinking of a 10:30a or 11a ceremony start time with the reception to follow and end at 3pmish. The venue is also on a river that we can swim in so the plan is to have enough change to go swim and hang out afterwards. Definitely still doing a cake and the important dances but I am unsure if we will have a DJ the whole time or just after the reception is over and have him/her set up to play music as everyone chills.

You know your guests the best, if they are the type of people to get up and dance with you, get a DJ and have fun!

Who doesn't love brunch/breakfast food? Smiley smile I think a brunch wedding sounds fabulous so I think you should go for it Smiley smile As for the cake, you could still have a cake but just make it a smaller one or maybe cupcakes instead so everyone just has some small cake to take home Smiley smile.

This is what the venue laid out for us for a timeline - keep in mind we are VERY limited on time so we will be doing a first look to get most of our photos out of the way, and then booked an “after party” for those that still want to hang! We are having additional drinks and snacks for the after party.

Food is a typical brunch menu. We have open bar for beer and wine. Coffee and tea of course are going to be available. Our venue offers Italian wedding cake as a dessert option so we are going to try It when we do our tasting and then just get a small cake for the the aesthetic!

We are not having a Dj- we contemplated live music but the cost was over budget. Spotify It is lol

We are not doing speeches, bouquet toss, etc…still up in the air about the “special dances” too. But we are having a very laid back vibe at a winery…small wedding, mostly older guests.
