Brunch Wedding

Amber, on January 26, 2020 at 3:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 9
Fiancé and I have decided on a brunch wedding. This will not only cut costs for food and beverages (and come on, who doesn’t love chicken and waffles or a mimosa bar). It will also give us more time that evening to look back and reflect on the days events and spend some one on one time together without going straight to bed post reception. But what ideas do you guys have that would make the day extra fun and memorable For our guests? What have you seen at brunch weddings that made the wedding unique?

I haven't been to a brunch wedding but we do go to the cutest cafe sometimes. They have these amazing lattes. Maybe you could have a signature latte or something!

Love that idea, Jennifer! I’m sure I could find a mobile coffee cart!

Yes! The place we go to has like lavendar honey lattes and s'mores lattes. Getting one is a must! They also do all these fancy desserts as well. It is like walking into a Paris bakery!

I initially really wanted a Sunday brunch wedding because it’s different and there can be so many cute details. I had all the ideas planned out, wanted it on a local rooftop venue that overlooks the pro baseball stadium and the downtown skyline. I loved idea of a fun “day party” wedding and also liked the fact that guests still had their evening time available after the wedding was over.

But then one day we very randomly decided a destination wedding instead. So the plans completely shifted. 😆

We are having a brunch wedding! Or maybe just a breakfast wedding? 11am ceremony followed by a social hour with lawn games and mini muffins/pastries. Then a full breakfast buffet including a pancake bar! I'm making our own wedding/reception programs that look like newspapers. You can find some on etsy they are super cute! We are also doing donuts instead of cake, and coffee/hot chocolate/ tea guest favors.

If you’re serving alcohol I think a Bloody Mary bar and mimosa bar would be a hit.

We are planning a 11am ceremony and noon reception on a Saturday. We originally thought about a brunch buffet but decided to do a more traditional meal of chicken and prime rib. We are always having an open bar. We are keeping many of the traditional reception events, MOH/BM speech, dj with dancing, cut cutting, etc. The only thing we aren’t doing is the garter/bouquet toss - just not our thing. We live in Vegas and many of our friends and family will be down to party with us all day! We aren’t hosting any events after the reception but will be inviting some to meet for drinks a little later in the evening.

    I love brunch!!! ☕️ 🍳 🥓 🥞

As a guest, a mimosa bar would be my #1 favorite. And then a food action station—for custom omelettes or crepes.

We're having a brunch wedding on a Sunday (50 days!).

11:30am Ceremony, an hour for photos and then 1:30pm brunch. Because we are having immediate family only, we are renting a private room at one of our favorite restaurants and can order off the menu. To make the day more interesting, I'm getting an Instax Polaroid so our guests can do fun instant photos for us and themselves, I made a word find like you would find in the Sunday morning paper, and doing cupcakes instead of a full cake. Where we are having brunch is also right in the heart of town, so there is plenty to do and see after including an art installation and walking along the canal waterfront, bike rentals and tons for the kids to do.

We just bought a house, so after the "reception" is over, we will likely have everyone to the house to see it and play with the dog, watch Sunday sports and just relax before going back to cold weather (we live in AZ).
