Brunch Wedding Tips?

Lillian, on June 30, 2024 at 8:23 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2

My fiancé and I have started planning and have kind of fallen in love with the idea of doing a brunch wedding and the reception being 11-3 or 4, and then inviting anyone who wants to to either go to a brewery or bar crawl or something after and party all day and all night (Our moms are both now also in love with this idea of just celebrating and partying the whole day away). Has anyone done anything kind of like this? Any thoughts, tips, or input? Bonus points if you have suggestions around the RI, eastern CT, and southern MA areas.

My daughter had a brunch ceremony/reception from 11-4:00 and I highly recommend it! Afterward, they had rented a party bus for them and their friends to go into the city (San Francisco) for the whole evening ahead. It was also nice for the older crowd, who didn't go to the city, to still have the whole evening ahead to relax and recover after a full day of events. Another huge benefit to a brunch reception is that the food is much cheaper and you don't need a full bar (mimosas and Bloody Mary's as far as alcohol).

I did this and I don't have a single regret. The venue I was interested in had two different time options, so that's really how the idea came about but you could look into a nice restaurant or just chat with venues you like and see their flexibility. Everyone loved it, they could be home by dinner or go out afterwards while they were already dressed up.
