Brunch reception alcohol

Amanda, on October 14, 2019 at 12:33 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2
I'm trying to figure out how much alcohol to order for our wedding. We are having a brunch wedding on a Saturday morning/afternoon . Ceremony from 9:30-10, cocktail hour from 10-11 and reception from 11-3. Do you think I should just follow the wedding drink calculators on Google, or do you think people are likely to drink less in the morning/afternoon?

I think it depends on your guest list. Those alcohol/drink estimates would be so off for our friends and family, we’d run out of alcohol for sure! The estimates usually assume 1 drink per hour, and 2 the first hour. I don’t know how much hard alcohol people will drink in the afternoon but I’d have a mimosa bar and a lot of extra champagne for sure! Much better to have too much than to run out!

    Hey Amanda!

As Andrea has mentioned, I would definitely consider your guest list when figuring out how much alcohol to order. Since it is a morning/early afternoon wedding, I would imagine that people will be more conscious of what they are drinking. Also, will many of your guests be driving? That could lessen the amount of alcohol consumed.

I definitely think that mimosas and Champagne would be great drinks for a brunch wedding.

Some of your guests may opt to not drink at all. Are you also having tea and coffee stations?
