Dedicated January 2020

Brother/usher with nothing to wear

Amina, on January 6, 2020 at 1:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
So my wedding is this Saturday and my younger brother is supposed to be one of the ushers. He just found out a few weeks ago that he’ll actually be able to make the wedding as he is in the process of enlisting in the Air Force (even tho the process has taken about 6 months at this point...). His ONE task was to find his suit from prom so that he can wear it for the wedding and be one of our ushers. It’s been about 2 weeks since we discussed it and he has yet to go look for his suit. He was supposed to send it with my mom to my house so I can get it dry cleaned for him and keep it at my house to decrease anymore work on him. He’s 20 years old but has the mindset/personality of a young teenager, he’s immature and irresponsible. It would make sense to drag his feet if I asked him to do something that only benefits me but this is for his benefit as well so he has something nice to wear and something actually clean. Should I just drop it and if he doesn’t find his suit that’s on him or should I be on him since the wedding is only 5 days away??

I would ask him one last time if he's had a chance to look for his suit yet. Other than that I'd let it go, you have enough on your plate right now with the wedding being this weekend!

Yeah it's on him at this point. You've done your part so either he finds his suit or finds something else suitable to wear by then

Wishing you all the best on your big day!!

    Agreed!

In the long run it really won’t matter what he wears. You’re so close to your wedding and there are so many more important things. At this point every time something seems stressful ask yourself “but will it ruin the wedding day?” If the answer is “no,” let it go!

I would let it go. You've mentioned it and he has not done what he's supposed to. You don't need to be worrying about babysitting him. At this point, I'd plan on not having him as an usher, and in reality, ushers aren't necessary anyway. So I wouldn't stress about it too much. Hopefully the Air Force can teach him some responsibility.
