Brother/sister first dance songs

LaurenJ, on January 28, 2019 at 10:36 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2

Help! I am searching for a good brother/sister first dance song. My father passed away 7 years ago now from cancer, and since then my brother who is 10 years older than me has truly stepped up and helped to fill that void. But I am having a hard time finding a song for us to dance too. I want something meaningful, but I also do not want to cry my eyes out during that dance. Hopefully yall have some good suggestions!

I love this idea. If you want to go for something untraditional, something like "we are a family" would be fun and meaningful while not bringing on the waterworks. I want to do a dance with my family from the movie Coco "Proud Corazon" which is family oriented, there might be other disney songs out there that are more family focused and celebratory and less specifically father-daughter. Another idea would be to pick a song y'all both enjoy, or something representative of your culture. Does he have any ideas in mind?

Hi LaurenJ! Welcome to WeddingWire! Smiley ring I'm sorry for the loss of your father, but I'm glad your big brother stepped forward to help you. Smiley smile I agree with Katherine: is there a song you guys like to listen to together, or one that reminds you of him?

You could always dance to Seven Years by Lukas Graham. It makes me bawl, but it's kind of hopeful and I think it could be a nice song for the two of you. Or maybe He Didn't Have to Be by Brad Paisley. I think that's what it's called.

Are you looking for a slow song or an upbeat song?
