Brother of the Bride Speech

Has anyone ever had a family member do a speech at their reception instead of they MOH or BM? My MOH is not comfortable doing a speech so I am considering asking my brother to do one in her place. Has anyone ever experienced something like this?

    My MOH is the same way! I'm having one of my other bridesmaids do it (she happens to be my niece).

    I would just open up the opportunity to a select few others and say "let me know if you would like to do a speech" as they may feel forced to say yes if you just ask them directly.

    Hi Viviana! I'm the same way, I don't think I'm giving a speech at my sister's wedding, I get too anxious! I think this would be totally fine! Does your brother want to give a speech? If he doesn't, you could always open it up to others in the bridal party!

    We do not have a bridal party or groomsmen, so we picked someone who is special to both of us to do our speech.
