Brooch bouquets (where I've purchased my brooches)

AlexisSSDD, on June 7, 2017 at 2:58 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 33

I'm not going to do real flowers for my bouquet/bridesmaids' bouquets. I'm going with some kind of eco flowers and brooches. I personally want something to last and another personalized gift to give to my ladies. We will have some simple centerpieces that will have real flowers, but those will be coming from Kroger Smiley smile

Anywho, my best friend and BM is a hardcore online shopper and got me hip to this app/site called Wish. That's where I've ordered/will keep ordering all of my brooches. I've had a very positive buying experience and the packaging has been good too. The brooches range from about $3-$5 (that's including shipping). I'm pretty impressed with the quality, especially because of the price. I'm going to make each BM according to their interests and style.

I'll attach pictures of the ones I've already received and some of the ones to come. This post is just a little bit of possible insight for anyone who's considering having a brooch bouquet.

Pictures will be in the comments.

Our wedding colors are purple, black, and gray. I'm hoping to end up with something similar to this.

Hit retailers like Macy's, Kohls, and Dillard's. A lot of broken jewelry they hold onto including brooches and send them back in a large quantity. You may score some really cheap ones from their scrap piles.

Thank you, Svetlana, about the suggestions. I didn't even think about using broken beads Smiley smile

If you need more brooches, let me know. I was going to originally do a full brooch bouquet, but I decided to do a sola flower bouquet with a few of my favorite brooches as accents. I have about 30 white ones, like the ones in this picture, that I'd be willing to send your way. Here was the start of my brooch bouquet, but I received a lot of negative feedback on it and have since scrapped the idea.

MrsVoegs17, that's super kind of you about extending the possibility of sharing those brooches with me (a stranger)! Thank you! I'm also thinking of using sola flowers or some of the real-looking flowers I've seen at Hobby Lobby or something else.

I really do hate that you got a lot of negative feedback from folks about the start of your bouquet and that led you to scarp your idea. I wish you'd reconsider it and keep working on your bouquet. I honestly don't think it merits being scrapped at all. Hell, I have no idea how fabulous mine will be...but I'm going to try and do my best! Lmao, I'm very much aware that I'm not Martha Stewart!

I'm sending you good vibes with your bouquet jazz Smiley smile

I ordered a lot of 32 on ebay for about $30. They are all similar so they probably wouldn't work well for your thoughts of having different ones for each BM, but just an idea if you are looking for fillers or anything smaller.

@MrsVoegs- What is the deal with the Sola flowers, how realistic to they look?

I got most of my brooches on etsy. They averaged 1$ per piece.

I just bought a bulk lot of 50 in various sizes.

I also ordered a few from wish, and one never showed up. :-(

The other two were nice though!

MarryingMurray, that's looking real good! I'm trying to decide just how many I'll put in the bouquet.
