Broken Registry Item

I haven't had this happen but I would imagine they'd exchange it.

Yes, I would. They will be able to verify that it was purchased off your registry and then should exchange it with no problem.

Definitely take it into the store to exchange it.

Yup, I had this happen. Called customer service and they sent me a replacement item.

Yes. We actually ordered a nesting bowl set with lids from our own registry after the wedding and it arrived damaged. I also wasn't impressed with the overall quality and decided I didn't even want it anymore. I called customer service because it came without a packing slip and I didn't want to waltz into the store without some kind of packing slip showing it was an already purchased item. I explained the damage and that I wasn't sure I wanted to exchange it for the same item because aside from the damages I was disappointed with the item, and they emailed me a return shipping label so I could send it back and they will be mailing me a gift card equal to the full value of the item (even though we used our completion discount). I'm only getting a gift card because we paid with a gift card I received at one of my showers.

I had this happen with a gift from Pottery Barn. No issues exchanging it.

Yes, return it or exchange it. I wouldn't tell the person that sent it to you that it was broken though since it's not their fault and would make them feel bad.
