Bright summer flowers - what color bridesmaid dresses?

Lifeisgood, on October 8, 2016 at 7:31 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Hi!

I'm getting married next August at a rustic summer camp in Maine. We are so excited! I saw some photos of absolutely gorgeous fun bright wedding flowers (http://greenweddingshoes.com/rustic-santa-fe-inspired-wedding-laura-jon/), and decided I want to replicate it at my wedding. My family/ friends don't want to wear white, like in the photos, becuase they think it could take away from me... although I would have been open to them wearing a cute ivory or champagne lace dress.

We looked at plum but it seemed too dark for summer.

Everybody loves peach, but I don't think I can get away with that bright a floral arrangement without being overwhelming. Thoughts?

I was thinking maybe of sage green? I am really bad at matching/ style, so I can't figure this part out! I would love any input.

Thanks so much!

If you want to highlight the bright florals I would definitely pick a neutral for the dresses. Maybe a slate gray color.

Maybe light pale pink, very light peach, champagne, etc. A bright color toned down or a neutral.

That's actually the first time I've seen white bridesmaids dresses- I see why you like them! I second the other suggestions of a light neutral.

Anything light and neutral would work.

I thought the same as you did about white bridesmaid dresses...but when we went shopping we all loved how it looked! Added the belt and Jean Jacket to give it a little color and then went with cowboy boots. I love them!

Im doing bright florals and teal toned dresses doesnt look to overwhelming to me but I also love color.

We are doing tropical flowers and beachy toned dresses so (in my head at least) it goes.

I LOVE the white dresses toooo! Wendy, those are adorable. Nobody else in my fam/ bridal party liked the white idea! I don't think they realized how cute it could be! Same with champagne.

But they were open to anything else.

    Thoughts on this color ?

If u are wearing white I wouldn't have them in blushes or pinks its going to clash in pictures. I would do bright colors.

Definitely something neutral would work, but I wouldn't go too boring/flat, they won't have the flowers all night likely, flowers are more of a prop not an accessory so they could maybe do accessories to match the flowers

Date twins! But I definitely agree a neutral color would be best.

Well mine are actually a champagne Ivory color. I don't really love the light blue color...what about a pale yellow color? I think that would look good with your flowers.
