Bridezilla Moments...

Mandi, on November 11, 2019 at 10:42 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
So... anybody guilty of bridezilla moments?
I've had my fair share. 🤦‍♀️

*When we were looking for venues and all the places we looked at were too small, not how they described, might possibly have a different event that day, but it wasnt booked yet, wouldn't book us that far in advance.

*I forgot what color my dress was and freaked out that it wasn't dark enough.

*Most recently I may have flipped out when I couldn't get an invitation sample from Shutterfly. They told me I had to buy 10... then I couldn't change their template to my liking, so I ordered a sample from Zazzle instead.

*Currently trying to remain calm because my seamstress has my dress but hasn't measures my arms.

*Also kinda annoyed because everyone keeps telling my fiance we HAVE to get me a wedding band. But I don't want to detract from my ring.

What are some of your Bridezilla moments?

I just yelled at our venue on the phone a few hours because we are getting married outside in February and they wanted us to start at 6 and I want it to still be light outside so I said 4. Then all of a sudden it's going to $500 more to start that early because they like to book an afternoon and evening event which no one mentioned until now.

That's definitely annoying about the ring. I also don't want a wedding band and my fiance agreed at the time but now he is insisting I need a band. I also think it will detract from the ring and I cant find any bands I like.

I’m still two years out from our wedding, so I haven’t had many yet (fingers crossed for limited future moments lol). But my major one so far was when everyone kept telling us we couldn’t have a fall wedding because of football season!! God forbid Ohio college football is so dang important 😆 I had a moment to flip out, but I’ve come to terms with it now. And we have our fall wedding all set regardless!
Also I guess I had a minor bridezilla moment with my dad when he told me he thought I was “settling” on our venue. I had already toured three places and had my heart set on this one, so I was super upset that he seemed to be trying to talk me out of it. But we’re all good now!

Ugh I have for sure had a few. Currently my biggest headache and bridezilla moments have involved my flaky venue coordinator. She is awful about responding, a few weeks ago I'm literally trying to make a payment for almost a $1,000 and I couldn't get a hold of her for almost 2 weeks. Like do you want our money or not! Then she screwed up our rooms at the hotel that the wedding is at. We are supposed to have a bridal suite the night before the wedding and she only had it down for the night of the wedding. Still haven't heard if that's fixed yet and it's been a week since she said she would look into it. Not really sure what there is to look into, since in the contract it states we have the bridal suite that night so change the reservation. Not sure why that is so complicated. So just generally frustrated with her.

I've had a few. First was with our original venue. We had booked it in August 2018 for our November 2020 wedding. All was good until about April when I saw a video of the venue on Facebook and they had built a giant roof over the deck that cut the side of the barn in half. I emailed her and I said I wanted to see it. She told me to wait until the open house in July. Needless to say we got in the next day and I made her give me my full deposit back. Second was when one of FH best friends got engaged. Her ring looks almost exactly like mine (mine was a custom design) and then they set our date three weeks before ours because she wanted to be the first in the friend group to get married.

I almost had one with photographer returning our engagement pictures but he got them to us right before I lost it Smiley laugh . I've done pretty well so far but we are still 7 months out.

FH wanted to livestream the wedding so his students could see it (he teaches Spanish at a high school). I really don't want a bunch of random people I've never met watching such a personal moment in our lives. Calmly explained that to him and he dropped it Smiley smile

I Haven't had one like really bad but I'm on the brink of one! My FSIL has been "dating" this guy that no ones ever met and she wants to bring him to our wedding. The logistics of it and the fact that I've never met him are literally driving me crazy! Honestly if she brings it up again I'm going to go off lol like I can't

I know this post was from months ago but I just stumbled across it and oh boy can I relate to this!! We are having a November 21 wedding in Michigan and I kept having friends bug me about 1. Hunting season; and 2. U of M, OSU, MSU football season. Before I even booked my date I made sure that there were no big games going on because I also love football. But I still have people freaking out. Like come on...It is my WEDDING - You can miss ONE game for me. The amount of people that had an issue with it just drove me insane so when one of my friends said “oh I sure hope that’s not on game day” I just snapped and said “well if it is I guess you just won’t come”. He laughed it off and this was months ago but I am still a bit bitter about it lol
