Bridesmaids proposals

Lauren, on May 28, 2019 at 12:53 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Hello brides!

I am going to be asking my 2 oldest and best friends to be my bridesmaids, and have made beautiful cards to ask them in, but I am feeling like this is impersonal. I would love to hear how you all asked your bridesmaids, and if a card seems like a lame way to ask my ladies. I'm open to any suggestions Smiley smile

Cards are really lovely-- putting any amount of effort into asking bridesmaids is what matters. Plenty enough people would ask in conversation, whereas you're giving them a card which will mean a lot and last forever Smiley smile Making it personal with a platonic love letter style message might make it a lot more special-- although I assume this was the plan anyway!

I just asked. You don't need gifts or cards or anything else, all that is extra. Asking someone to stand next to you on your wedding day is personal all on it's own, gifts don't make it any more or less special.

A card and a box of goodies: a diy tumblr with their names on it(I’m using my Crichton’s machine to make those), bridal shirts, small lotion, small tube of perfume and the tube and maybe a little piece of jewelry or keychain.

I was asked in a card, I thought it was really sweet! It had my name on the front & everything. I sent jewelry boxes with nail polish, hair ties and liquor shooters!

I just texted and asked them because of conflicting schedules - they were totally fine with that way, though!

I asked my girls during the holiday season and mad them each a box full of goodies. Each one got a monogram mug from Etsy that matched our holiday theme, cozy socks, their favorite snacks, and a card. The only difference was my MOH who received a padded book sleeve.

I'm just mad I didn't take a picture of any of them! Smiley angry

The one thing i regret is not properly asking my bridesmaids to be my bridesmaids. they always knew they were going to be it so when i got engaged it was a given but i love love the idea of asking because it seems thoughtful and cute to do so.
i was buying gifts for my bridesmaids and then i found this cute little hair tie that says will you help me tie the knot and be my bridesmaid?
