Bridesmaids: Pay for their hair or makeup?

I paid for one service for my girls and let them choose. Some girls chose hair and some chose makeup.

I would rather have my hair done personally, but I don't wear very much makeup. I would just ask each individual bridesmaid which one they'd prefer

I agree with PP that you should let them choose. I personally would prefer to have my hair done because I feel like it’s more obvious in bridal party photos than makeup. Bridesmaids don’t typically have close ups.

I would let each of your girls choose which one they want if possible.

I would say maybe take care of the most expensive of the two. Luckily I will be doing my bridesmaids hair (to keep costs low), so I will ask them to pay for their makeup.

I'd let them pick which one in case they prefer to do one themselves! I'd rather have my hair done because I have ZERO ability to do my own. But I'd probably pay to have my makeup done too. Out of all my bridesmaids, all (9) had their hair done and 7 had their makeup done (the other 2 wanted to do their own). Out of the 3 mom's, 2 had their hair done and all 3 had their makeup done.

Definitely hair. Most people can do decent makeup on their own, but if you want a hairstyle more elaborate than just basic curls or basic straightening... most people can’t do that unless they’re professional

I say hair too. Half of my bridesmaids got their hair done at a salon, the rest did their own hair and everyone did their own make-up.

I mean personally I feel like i can do my makeup better than my own hair

I gave my bridesmaids options. My makeup lady is a family friend so I am willing to pay for theirs. The hair is a bit more expensive so I agreed to pay for half and they all agreed, which came out to $35 each which is still really good.

I'd give them the choice, but I would prefer the hair!
