Bridesmaids out of state - letter

Katrina, on July 9, 2024 at 12:59 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 3

How do you tell your long distant, best friends you want them to be your bridesmaid in a LETTER? I've already created super cute proposal boxes, but I plan on formally asking them in person. But, because they're long distance and have kids, families, jobs etc... I also dont want to suprise them an make it a public announcement if they're not able to. The distance also has made keeping up with the relationships difficult but whenever I text them, its like were right where we left off.

Is the letter a follow up to the in person ask or being sent before/after? It sounds like it’s a note that’s being sent along with the proposal boxes? In which case, I would just keep it short and sweet and say how much they mean to you and how excited you are for them to stand by you on your wedding day.

I'd skip the "proposal boxes" especially since you say you aren't sure they will all accept. Gifts can imply or create more pressure in that case. I'd save the money and put it toward your bridesmaids gifts. That thanks them for something they are already doing or have done. Personally, I'd ask them over the phone. They may have questions for you etc.

I would just call and talk to them. A letter seems formal and stiff.
