Bridesmaids, maid of honor ?

Mackenzie, on August 26, 2019 at 10:59 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Ok so I’m not sure if I am going to have a maid of honor or even a lot of bridesmaids. it’s a pretty small wedding and I only have a couple people I for sure want in the wedding. I know if I don’t have a maid of honor I won’t have a bachelorette party or the bridal party before the wedding. Is anyone else kinda doing the same thing?!? I kinda just want the wedding and ceremony and that’s all.

I wouldn't mind a bridal shower, which I'm sure my mom or two sisters (who are my maid of honor and matron of honor) will be planning, but I definitely don't want a bachelorette party. Or at least not the typical strippers, getting drunk at a bar type deal Smiley xd Maybe a nice dinner and a sleepover, but that's about it lol

Your family and/or bridesmaids could throw you a shower or a bachelorette party even if you don't have a maid of honor. Either way, it's totally up to you (and your FS) as to what you two want for your wedding, and either is fine.

We don't have a best bridesman or maid/matron of honor. We simple chose our people and didn't give titles. I'm not sure exactly what will happen but we plan a get-to-know you dinner soon so everyone can meet then at a later date go over more wedding details. 5 of them are local and we are in regular contact so we're not stressing.

We had only a maid of honor and a dude of honor, and both of them lived out of town. However, other people threw a couple of bachelorette parties for us. The decision about a wedding party should really be independent of the question of parties. Your wedding party is not obligated to throw parties for you, and conversely, anyone (not just someone in your wedding party) can offer to throw you a party.

Anyone can offer to throw you a shower or plan a bachelorette party. I had 3 bridesmaids and no MOH because I didn't want to choose one over the other. They worked together to plan the shower and bachelorette party.

We wouldn't have anyone with us if we didn't have our sons. Our number one thing about our wedding was having them there so they will be the only ones to stand with us. They are escorting us and will be our best men. I think no wedding party is fine if that is what you want. It has been a dream for us and we know there won't be drama. We also decided to skip all of the extra parties except a huge get together at our friend's bar for everyone in the community to have a drink (or 5) with us before the wedding weekend.
