Bridesmaids how-to

I’ve been a bridesmaid three times, but this is my first time as the bride. I’ve been a bridesmaid three times, but this is my first time as the bride. At one wedding I just got a message asking me, another gave me a jar full of candy and ribbons with the wedding colors and the third was my sister and she just blurted it out.
I was thinking of hand-writing a note to each of my girls. Should I add gifts to it like a face mask and lipstick? Or is the note and taking them out to grab coffee or tea enough?

I didn't do anything other than asking them. I'm too busy to sit down and make a pretty box or take them for food ndrink. My life is crazy with kids n moving n sports n etc.

Lol! I’ve had a lot of time to acquire items, as FH & I have been together for 8yrs, and I knew I wanted a “Harry Potter” wedding about 4yrs ago.....

This took about 6mo to put together. From painting of box to giving.AC Moore, Walmart, Dollar Tree, Ross/TJ Maxx, and 5-Below were my BEST friends. Minus the time it took to paint and collect the items, it cost me roughly $100 for the MOH & $75 for the other girls. That includes box/paint cost too.

I wrote them all a handwritten note and then I saved the cash to gift them on the day of! My best friend, she just basically told us! I think there is no rule, whatever works for you!

I made my own bridesmaids proposal. Something simple, I got a bracelet with hair tie, tattoo sticker that says bride tribe in Amazon for good price. I added a journal I found at the dollar store. With a note “will you be my bridesmaid?”..

It depends your budget. Smiley smile

It is completely up to you. There is no right or wrong way. If it is in the budget to get them something, sure but you are definitely not required to.

As others have stated, it all depends on your budget and personality. I did a small bridesmaid proposal box (4 ladies, 1 man) with 'bride tribe' sunglasses, koozie, and hairtie, a handwritten note, Impress stick on nails, a notebook and heel stoppers for the ladies since we're having an outdoor wedding. I gave my man of honor a mini champagne bottle, and he wanted the hairties as well, just in case of emergencies come wedding day. I figured they can use the sunglasses, koozies and hairties at my bachelorette party or any other bridal event. Minus my man of honor, I'm paying for their hair and makeup, so they will not be getting additional gifts from me other than a getting ready flannel shirt.

I think it’s whatever you want! I did a box full of goodies for a cozy night in and a donut mug. We all have the same one. I also threw in a face mask, hot chocolate packets, chocolates, tea bags, and socks!

I loved making these boxes. My mindset was I love these girls and wants to give them something to celebrate the excitement. I did the cheesy “can’t tie the knot without you” bracelet and put note cards thanking them, giving them wedding details, and contact info for all the important people. I believe each box was less than 20 bucks. (The two I have to ship will end up being more).
I’m also the person who will randomly send them packages.

This is my first time too! I found cards at Walmart saying “will you be my bridesmaid?” And I found in the holiday section plastic champagne glasses, I’m going to mail them to my girls and hand deliver the ones I live by, I found tanks that said “bride tribe” for them since they will be with me during the planning.

A note and coffee sounds nice. I invited my girls out for lunch and paid and also gave them wine bottles that read will you be my bridesmaid.

This is very sweet Blair! I love how simple it is, and I would definitely appreciate the time and effort that goes into organizing lunch for everyone!

I didn't have a lot of money to spend on the "Ask" for my girls. I wanted to save that money to get them great gifts. So what I did is I got some pretty blank cards at the dollar store (the pack of 6), and wrote a meaningful letter in it stating why they mean so much to me and why I need them to be apart of my day. Then I went to sherwin williams and got color swatches of the wedding colors. I put the color swatches in the card so that they could use those if they needed to match anything. My girls loved it!

The color swatches idea is brilliant! I’m having them buy their dresses at the same place because I love uniformity but for all the great of their wedding events they might need them!

Hi Sinead! thank you Smiley smile I did put them together myself. I got everything from Amazon minus the Impress nails and notebooks. The boxes were cake boxes that I had to assemble, which wasn't hard.

Bridesmaids how-to 3I made these cute personalized boxes for my bridesmaids. Each one had their own personal note with a bunch of goodies inside like a ring pop, "I do crew" shot glass with a mini liquor bottle, bridesmaid hair ties, and a knot bracelet. They all loved it and it was fun to make! Pretty inexpensive too.
