What are some great gifts you have received as a bridesmaid or given to your bridesmaids?

I gave my girls gift cards to a place they like. When I’ve been a bridesmaid the typical gifts like tote bags, tumblers, robes, etc have always ended up donated or in a junk drawer.

I gave my girls: monogrammed totes, tumbler's with their name on it, and round beach towels. All of my bridesmaids like the beach, and I had a summer wedding, so the gifts seemed fitting for the season and I know they are items they would all use / like.

It depends on your girls! I had 9 bridesmaids, 4 of them had never been bridesmaids. The other 4 who had been bridesmaids had only been a BM once and they were in young couple/lower budget weddings so got very small gifts. Only one of my BM is a seasoned BM and she loves anything monogrammed. So for me, it made sense to do what I did. I gifted each girl a tote, tumbler, getting ready outfit (they picked which one they wanted out of 3 options), cute ankle socks, and a letter from me. Plus I paid for HAMU if they wanted it and hired a chair masseuse for getting ready. For bachelorette favors, I gave hangover kits & wine tumblers. For proposal gifts, jewelry boxes with nail polish & liquor shooters & hair ties. I've been a BM twice, one I was gifted a cheap satin robe (I promptly donated it - I love robes but not the cheap satin/silk kind) and the other was a sparkly watch (cute, but couldn't be lengthened shorter or bigger and it was too big so I donated it). I am a big fan of nice water bottles & travel coffee mugs, nice cotton waffle robes, slippers, face masks, picture frames, fuzzy socks, or sentimental gifts like letters! I'm not a fan of being gifted jewelry, I have sensitive ears so I can't wear earrings if they aren't the exact right kind. I never wear necklaces or bracelets so those are useless to me. I don't take baths, so bath bombs or salts do nothing for me. I like totes, they are easy for traveling or camping or going to the beach or lake. As long as it doesn't say "bridesmaid" or "wedding" or anything with the wedding date, I'll most likely reuse it. I just prefer what I'm given is nicer quality so I actually use it again.

I made them all tote bag backpacks that I'm pretty excited about, and got them s'well bottles which are something I think they'll all like, but wouldn't ever buy themselves.

A monogrammed champagne glass and a gold dipped rose was my favorite. I’ve also gotten a cotton robe and a couple clutches. I’m not really into the normal cutesy stuff that’s advertised for bridesmaid gifts. I really don’t know why anyone would want to wear a bridesmaid T-shirt or whatnot for anything other than pictures for the bride. I think the best gifts are those that are chosen for the individual. There really isn’t any reason why your girls (or guys) need to have matching everything.

Ha ha I agree. Not everything has to match. The gold dipped rose sounds really cool and unique! I love that idea, thanks.

I like the idea of a hand written letter! It's simple but personal and something that really shows how much you care about them. I think I am going to do this for my girls. Thanks!

I paid for it to be made. I communicated the dress colors, hair colors, hair styles, flower colors, quote, all the details!
