Bridesmaids dresses

Emily, on February 14, 2022 at 8:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
My wedding is November 2022. I have 4 girls in the wedding party and I’m letting them all pick the style of their dress I told them the color. One is 7 months pregnant. She will be giving birth 6 months before the wedding. I’m having her pick out hers after she gives birth so that we have a better idea of what size she will be. Since she is not ordering her dress with the others, I’m just wondering if I need to be worried about it not matching the color with the others? I wouldn’t mind if 2 of the girls had a slightly different color than the other 2 but she is the only one who will be ordering hers later. Any advice is very helpful!

Dye lots used to be an issue, and it may still happen. However, now that dye is mixed by a computer, it is much less likely for there to be differences.

Just to be sure, I would ask her to purchase from the same place as at least one of the other girls. If they all order from the same place it shouldn't be an issue.

You could always alter a tiny bit and go with a few hues of the same color. I'm in the same position- one of my bridesmaids will be 6 months postpartum on my wedding date. I've recently seen some photos where the bridesmaids all have the same color but different hues (like for me I'm considering different shades of purple). Could also help further relieve anxiety about colors not matching up

Like Hannah said, dyes are typically computer mixed now, but in my experience working in bridal, it really depends on the color. If you’re going with a medium or darker shade (dusty rose or blue, navy or eggplant) it’s very unlikely to be an issue. With the really pale pastels, there can still sometimes be slight differences- even with the same designer, ordered at the same store, but at different times. My other question would be- are all the dresses the same fabric?
