Bridesmaids Dresses

Stacey, on November 6, 2019 at 8:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

I am having some issues figuring out what to do about bridesmaids dresses. I have 4 bridesmaids and a groomswoman. I have always envisioned them wearing long strapless dresses. Two of my bridesmaids said they hate strapless dresses, one said she would wear whatever I want, and one I haven't asked yet. As for the groomswoman, I haven't talked to her about it. She is my husband's best friend and he has expressed concern that she would pick something slutty as that is how she tends to dress so he would prefer I just select the dress she wears. I am not a fan of the mixed styles of dresses in the same color so I'm not sure what would be the best option here. I want the girls to like their dresses, but I also want to like them as it is my wedding. Any helpful suggestions?

I had my girls use Azazie. I went through their site and copy and pasted several I liked and sent those links to them. You also can just say this is the dress, please order soon. I’ve been in several weddings where I don’t get to pick. I feel like the girls should be able to fall in line with your wish!

I think picking one style is fine but if two girls don’t feel comfortable in strapless I’d choose something that’s not strapless.

Daughter's BM's were a range of sizes. Daughter herself is a 36DD, so she's not a fan of strapless dresses and wanted to choose something for her BM's that would allow them to wear whatever bra they wanted to. She found a great option on Azazie that would accommodate whatever bra they wanted to wear and would be flattering on everyone.

As a girl with a larger chest I hate having to wear strapless so I totally understand where they are coming from. Are there any with straps that you like?

My best friend is in her brother’s upcoming wedding. Her soon to be SIL sent them a link to 3 dress styles all in the same color and allowed them to choose one.

I like these two dresses a lot. I went shopping the other day with the girls that don't like the strapless dresses to see what they might like. The one is an A cup and didn't like really any of the dresses because the material was gathering and very loose on her. The other is a D cup and said she felt like her boobs were suffocating in the dresses. I had both try on strapless and the A cup on was worried it would fall down and the D cup one was worried she would have to pull it up all night. I can't win.

I personally find strapless dresses a monster pain in the ass and I'm not even that large on top. You always find yourself tugging at it, especially if the dress is heavy. I would pick the fabric and color and let the girls pick their necklines so they can be comfortable.

I don't think I'd choose strapless to be honest because it's a bit more of a hassle to hold up

Hopefully the dresses they ordered would be more custom tailored instead of sample sizes to alleviate those issues. I would talk to the store about your concerns and then go with one of these dresses.
