Bridesmaids dresses

Felicity, on September 9, 2019 at 8:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
What do you think is a reasonable price for a bridesmaid dress? I don't want my bridesmaids to spend a fortune for one dress and I was wondering what was too much?

You could always ask them. I think anything over 150 is too much.

I agree with 99-120. Especially if it is something they may never wear again. You can find tons of dresses on amazon and even azazie for that price.

You should ask them what their budget is. “Too much” isn’t the same for everyone and we aren’t your bridesmaids.

Only your bridesmaids can answer this question. I'd ask each person individually their budget.

I paid $110 last year for a bridesmaid dress which I thought was reasonable. It definitely depends on your girls though and what their budget can allow!

I would ask them. I didn’t want to ask anyone to spend more than $100 because that’s just me. My bridesmaids scolded me and said they could afford more and to not limit the dress because of money. I was shocked and I know everyone isn’t like that and I’m fortunate that my maids have themselves together where they can put more towards it but everyone is different. Ask what their budgets are so everyone is on the same page.

The most I paid for a bridesmaids dress was just over $200 (not including alterations and that was also with a discount since the bride bought her dress there) and it was over what I really wanted to spend since it was already a destination wedding. So I think it’s important to give options with different price points. I let my girls choose their own dress in a specific color. Doing it that way allowed them to choose a dress within their budget.

I'd definitely ask them for their budgets and/or give them options. I used Azazie and told my girls a color and length, and let them pick whatever dress they wanted. There are a lot of options under $100 that still look really nice, and my thought was that if I was the bridesmaid, I'd like to at least have the option to get a dress under $100.

I'd just ask them their budgets. I've been a bridesmaid twice, one dress cost $60 and the other $150 (both prior to alterations). Both required me to get specific shoes & nails, and I paid for my own HAMU (which was optional). My girls picked their own dresses and they cost $89-$169 before alterations. But they also could wear whatever shoes & nails & jewelry they wanted, and I paid for HAMU & nails if they wanted and my mom paid for the entire bridal shower.
