Bridesmaids dresses

Melissa, on December 31, 2020 at 9:31 AM Posted in Planning 0 15
So I’m getting married august 2022, does anyone know when the best time to start looking for bridesmaid dresses is because obviously my wedding colour scheme will be what my bridesmaid dresses are but I don’t want to get them to soon Incase they might not fit when it comes to the wedding? Any advice would be appreciated x

My bridesmaids ordered their dresses 3-5 months before our wedding.

How did you manage with your colour scheme cos I’m worried cos the colour scheme depends on what colour the dresses are but I don’t want to leave things to late but now one of my bridesmaids has fallen pregnant and I’m in a flap hahaa

I picked the color scheme for my wedding, and then picked my bridesmaids dress color.

Pick out your color schemes, then find dresses that match the color. You don't want to order dresses until 6 months before the wedding.

I would wait until at least 6 months before the wedding for them to order them. It's okay to start looking earlier though so you have an idea of what you want

I recommend you choose your color scheme first.

You should pick your color scheme then find dresses that matter your color scheme rather than a other way around. I would wait until about 8-6 months prior to start looking at dresses. A lot can happen between then in now.

I picked my color scheme and then found the dress color to match. I chose the color, fabric, and designer and the girls chose their style of dress. They placed their orders for the bridesmaids dresses 7 months prior to our big day.

You should not buy most Bridesmaid dresses until under 6 months. They come in 2 weeks to 10 weeks from when you orfer them. The closer to the wedding you are, the more likely they will fit. People hate a bride who pushes them to order early if they get stuck with a $250 alterations bill added to the cost of a dress they paid $150-200 for. People gain, lose, get pregnant. Look at six or 5 months. Order at 4 months, or less if a dress that comes in super fast. You can choose colors in advance.

As others said, the color scheme is typically what determines bridesmaid dress colors, not the other way around. Usually you pick the venue, decide on a color scheme that complements that venue space, and then choose bridesmaids dress colors that fit with that color scheme. Dresses should be ordered 3-6 months out. Places like Azazie and David's Bridal usually get the dresses to you in about 4-6 weeks. If you get fancy dresses from a boutique designer, the lead time may be longer.

No earlier than 6 months before the wedding. The same time as when you pick your bridesmaids.

You don’t have to do that until less than a year out, maybe like 9 months out. Peoples sizes change and if they buy too far away they’d have to pay alterations. You can definitely look and pick ones you like though!

My bridesmaids ordered their dresses from David's Bridal. It takes 3-5 months for the dresses to come in and then another 8 weeks for alterations. Hope that helps!

I would look into ordering them about six months out, depending on where you’re getting them. I ordered one for a wedding recently, and it took about four months to come in. There also needs to be time for alterations.
I wouldn’t worry about places not having colors to fit your color scheme. Unless it’s a really unusual, hard to find color, you should be fine!
Keep planning as normal with the colors you want and then look for dresses that fit that color scheme closer to the time.
