Bridesmaids dresses vs Groomsmen colors

I let my fiance pick the groomsmen colors. He picked valentine red. That's what he wants. Beautiful color BUT I really don't want my bridesmaids wearing these bright red dresses. I thought about them wearing black with red accents or even going to a charcoal or nude color but I don't know if that will look silly. The wedding is in the fall, so red does compliment the season but I also didnt want red decor.

Any thoughts???

I think the black dresses would compliment the red, with maybe red roses for their bouquets? I would recommend adding some red elsewhere because you don’t want the red to seem out of place

True, but I do not like red roses lol. I really didnt think this through but he just loved that color so what was I to do? It's his day, too.

Black dresses isn't a faux paus right?

What is red exactly? The suit itself, the shirt, or the tie?

You do not want the bridesmaids dress to match the suit color because that may look weird when they are walking down the aisle together.

If you do black suits and black dresses, that may look dark. You can do a maroon dress!

True. I really don't want to have them wear an off white, well, because that's what I'm wearing. I didn't want them to wear black because its too dark, and red is so flashy. This just wasn't my idea of the colors. I really thought he would pick blue lol.

Are the guys wearing something similar to below? I would say a red dress would look totally fine in that case for your bridesmaids. Otherwise you could pick another accent color for them to wear!

You could totally go for not the same color; the black would look great I think. There are a few different colors that would complement red so I’d say go through your options and choose your fave

Black dresses would look great with what your FH has picked out for his guys. My girls are wearing steel blue dresses but the groomsmen tuxes will be black and silver. I just didn't like what Men's Wearhouse had to offer for steel blue.
